Although master limited partnerships, which are publicly traded energy firms that offer a steady, typically high, income, are helping to heat up the economy this summer, investors need to be careful they don’t get burned. Lured in by dividends or quarterly cash payouts, shareholders invested about $8 billion in mutual funds this past year according to Morningstar, an investment research firm this article discusses.
